Hey seniors,
Would appreciate healthy & constructive discussion…
I am speaking on many behalf…as many are in same boat…
We, MBA (HR) from average B-Schools & are working in Consultancies (8 months-1 year) with low packages see no growth in future..
We are feeling that HR is just the Recruitment & Selection: - taking requirements from clients, searching job portals, finding candidates & placing them. Competing with each other for billing….Our job has become monotonous..
Is this true???? Is this is the only thing we have in HR????? Is there anything else we can do to grow ourselves???? Is corporate providing & experiencing something different????
No intentions to hurt anybody's emotions..

Hi Shefali,
I was in the same mood one yr back. I belong to a consultancy background only & did the same things which you mentioned.
Now by God' s Grace & by some luck now i m in HR in one of the leading KPO here. Its no more recruitment only, other things follows as well!! We two of them in HR handling employee base of 115.
But one thing i assure you that Recruitment makes HR Happening. You will experience this in coming yrs once you move into HR. Generalist HR & Strategic HR are two different things.
So i suugest dont worry much! Wait for your turn! Be prepared for that! Browse Jobs for you & Make healthier relationship with your existing clients as well & if you are handling any non IT positions like HR manager/HR executive that wd be great enough!!
Best of Luck

Hi, u atleast did MBA (HR) from average B-School.
I even did not do complete my MBA and had just started pursuing my PGDHRM from symbi distance learning ,, but got offer from MNC as HR trainee for 1 yr in GENERALIST HR,, I just completed my training, and also finished my PGDHRM, now i myself looking for HR job now, but even though i recd lota opportunities for recruiting though equal to or more than my current CTC,, i did not accept it,, as i did not want to go into ONLY RECRUITING ,,
Since ur MBA HR u should not ask tht is there only recruitment in HR,,,,,
because YOU HAVE DONE MBA ,, AND YOU KNOW ur working in CONSULTANCY, so ur profile wouldbe nothing more than RECRUITMENT. BUT THERE IS MUCH MUCH MUCH more inHR, WHICH PROBABLY U HAVE STUDIED in YOUR MBA,,
as ur from NEWDELHI, as per ur profile, u have lots opportunities there, than I cld hav,,
Better think Y u joined consultancy,, and search for a HR FUNCTIon that interests u,,
BYE
