The Most Effective Methodologies of Organizational Culture Change – Part 2

By Imran Azim

(Continued from Part 1)

In my previous post I mentioned three methodologies of organizational culture change which are the most effective tools in my opinion. Let’s have a look on these methods:

Kotter’s Eight Stage Process
:

This method of organizational culture change has been proved to be an effective one as it emphasizes on applying a holistic approach. This method is based on a strong foundation and aims at building a long term cultural change in an organization. It involves eight different stages which are very clearly defined and nicely organized to achieve best possible outcome. This method seems very effective as it was developed after analyzing the facts behind the failure of most of the change processes. Directive Communication Psychology by Arthur Carmazzi:

This is the most up to date method which applies psychological approach and has been developed by Arthur Carmazzi – one of the top ten leadership gurus around the world. This method emphasizes on the way people act and react in groups and teams. This method is designed such a way that it deals with the potentialities a person already have in himself / herself and helps to bring out the best from an individual. Most of the organizational culture change processes fails because they take long time to give any positive result but Directive Communication Psychology is capable of providing some visible results within two weeks in most of the cases. Companies like Emirates, Dell & Siemens applied this method and got some remarkable results. Details on DC Psychology can be found at Organizational Change - Leadership Training BY Arthur Carmazzi.

Gung Ho! Process by Blanchard and Bowles:

This is another effective method of organizational culture change as it emphasizes on sharing of information and making proper alignment of purpose, values and goals of the individuals and organization. This method can change the organizational culture very effectively by improving morale, minimizing employee turnover, establishing a sense of purpose, improving creativity and empowering the individuals and teams. You can find more on this process at gung ho! ken blanchard's organizational culture development model for employee motivation and culture change in organizations.

You can choose any of these three methods to make a positive change to your existing organization culture and see the difference it can make.
