Dear Seniors, I am interested know How we can reduce to minimum the deduction of ESI from Gross wages of Security guards ? (Since most security guards resist deductions under this head.)
From India, Coimbatore
It is ill advised that the employees desist deduction for ESI. Nowadays super speciality treatment are being funded by ESIC through private hospitals, if the employees have put in minimum 6 months contribution period and continue to contribute. Generally the security guards are aged people who cannot attend other works and for them ESI benefits are good.

Dear Venkatraghavanm Ji,
Thanks, We are not against ESI deductions, I just want to know, Under what headings the deductions can be exempted for E.g : Washing allowance etc. etc.

Dear Karthi,
Use this link of ESIC Chennai regarding wages and non wages.
http://esichennai.org <link updated to site home>
Most of the employees are felt that the treatment given at ESIC dispensaries are not up to the mark. Though there are many benefits which can be availed by IPs, like Super specialty Hospitals and many Tied up Hospitals in near vicinity, the administrative channels are not so smooth.
Something has to be done here, because the % of IPs using the ESI is very megar compare to the total no of IPs enrolled. Further the amount given to State Govt Per each IP is enhanced.
Get back us for further clarifications.
