Dear Shri. Kapur,
Gratuity is paid to an employee at the end of his career or when he leaves the company at the end of some minimum period of service with them and is a benefit given by the employer. It is totally illegal if it is deducted from employee.

is it possible to lessen the period of gratuity?
Since 2008 it was not counted as a part of our CTC but in mid 2008 it was made as our CTC and calculated on the period of 30 days. But recently there is a new rule of our management, they have lessen the period from 30 days to 15 days. Is this legal?
