Dear All,
I have a query regarding the Total Earnings in my pay slip..
The offered CTC of my company is Rs. 110000/- per year and it is been displayed Rs.8946/- Per month. Is it correct??? But i'm geeting paid only 6965/- per month..
When the reason asked, the reply from the HR department was:
Your Total CTC is 110000/- which as per your salary statement, But by deducting your PF & ESI amount you will get by hand a 6965/-...
But the complete salary per month is 9167/- when we divide 110000 by 12 months and it is not displayed in pay slip instead 8946/- is mentioned. Which i feel is not a correct process and Gross salary is mentioned above the 8946/- and it is 7649/-
Kindly help me..

Hi, chethan,
Please understand there is a lot of difference in gross and CTC
Take home salary is always depending on the salary breakup so check your payslip for the breakup of basic HRA and other components, PF deduction is based on your basics.

It is highly regretting to say that CTC is a wrong concept developed by new generation companies. There are a lot of side effects to it. The side effects are now getting highlighted also. The link below will lead to an article by me written some years back. Now, the ill sides of CTC have started coming up in the form of disputes!

I think it is not too far to hear LTE (Loss To Employee) in that CTC breakup. It is almost customary to do 60-40 model. i.e, in the annual CTC, 60% /12 is the monthly gross and the remaining 40% is the annual component. It is the luck of the employee to recover this 40% with much of prayathna. CTC is a gimmick which we have copied since the time of outsourcing era. In the event of an employee surviving beyond a year, then he can feel better monetary wise. Based on the fictitious model, employees in high dreams swipe cards left/right and end up in agony that cannot be solved under 'Employee Grievances'.

dear mr. Chethan,
always ctc includes employer's contribution towards epf, bonus/exgratia payable, gratuity payable . Hence you do not find these items in your salary slip. Some companies may pay the bonus/exgratia in the monthly pay slip. Hence you please check up your appointment order in which the break up for ctc must be available. If it is not there, you contact the hr department and ask for the break-up for ctc. Many people mistaken the gross salary figure with the ctc. Generally gross salary is a part of ctc.
Best wishes.

Dear Chetan,
It is evident from your salary slip that your C.T.C. includes the amount of gratuity i.e. if you divide your annual gratuity amount 2648/12= 220.66=221. So your actual C.T.C. is 8946+221=9167. which is your actual monthly C.T.C=110000/12=9166.66/9167. I hope it satisfy your query.
