Please help me in making MIS reports. How to make MIS reports and other important aspects for the same.

MIS Report is the key and vital report for any organization. As an MIS person, you must have good rapport with production (for production norms in respect of all production inputs, raw materials, utilities), accounts (costing, profitability etc.) and sales people (sales transactions / accounting).

Monthly MIS Report is the mirror to find out the Company's health in any given quarter. You must have the skill to cull out all the information from various departments, critical analysis of the facts & figures thus culled out, raise questions whenever you find something fishy / ambiguous somewhere and with someone. You must have a logical mind to go into the details.

MIS people are the one who should have the balance of left and right brain activity although it mostly pertains to left brain.

You must have the norms, dos & donts black & white, know the process and procedure so that you can compare with what is going on in the organization to project the verity of facts and figures. MIS professionals should have that ability to go a little deeper and broader as also beyond and it is just like policing.

Thus your report should have the stipulated norms, deviations if any, reasons for less performance, cost efficiency ad the like.

Now-a-days, MIS-HR is also prepared separately which would reflect on the labour performance, labour climate & health etc.
