Vey easy it is to break the so called ego and feeling of greatness in such top bosses. Make some workshop on Creativity and Innovation with the help of a sr trainer who is experienced in handling such sr executives. arrange any titled programme where the top people will not feel that some one is trying to teach them. The trainer will make some game playing and the participants will realise how weak they are in knowledge, application and know vey little on many silly subjects.

Arrange some programme for them to learn how they can be benefited by Applying Emotional Intelligence in work and life to be more happy, and successful.

I am sure they will change in their outlook.

Hi ShivPriya,
As a trainer what quickly comes to mind is an exceptional game: 'All for one' which will surely change the outlook of participants.
Its a simple 2 hour activity which essentially requires a heterogeneous group to participate.
The outcome of the activity and its debriefing by the trainer will bring out eye opening realisations for all present in the room.

As you are working as part of fourth estate, Media , the knowledge as well as ego is bound to be there.Like Knowledge is fruit or a flower and ego which comes along with like an unwanted thorn . Training in-house in behavioral skills with external resource person would help. You need to get the feelings vented out in informal manner so that every one's ego is kept intact as it will vanish slowly . At times ego is a necessary evil and often taken wrongly for self prestige or right of opinion. However ego bubble blasts sooner or later. In corporate you need to give time and space and as one of the participants has advised on game play , out door sessions would certainly help. TEAM as you know Together Everyone Achieves More.. has to be inculcated softly but firmly. Another aspect is seek to Understand than seeking to be understood.

Ego is not a sin to have. In fact egoistic people perform much better.
Work on Team Synergy . Work on the strengths of the people rather than working on their weknesses.
Invariably, it is a futile exercise to work on weaknesses of HODs.
Ask people to identify their collegues strengths, Good Trainer can do this exercise.
