We used a software before called Timedoctor. It can produce screenshots on PC. It has also a task list and will monitor the productivity of the employee. However, it is not free. But it is worth it.
If you want a free monitoring software, try myteammonitor. It can produce screenshots and can generate a daily report on the total time worked by the employee. However, it will automatically log out if there is no activity on the PC after 2 minutes.
