Dear Bhavani,
Surprising to see your posting. Being completed Masters in Business Administration specialised in HRM, how could you still await for some good/standard HR Text Books to be refered by someone else? Ok. Thousands of Texts available in market on HR subject matters. I hereby suggest you a good reference book: 1. ESSENTIALS OF HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENTAND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS (Text, Cases and Games) by P. Subba Rao, 2. Personnel and Human Resource Management-Text and Cases by P.Subba Rao, 3. PERSONNEL MANAGEMENT (Text & Cases) by Mamoria & Gankar, 4. WHAT EVERY MBA SHOULD KNOW ABOUT HRM by S. Jayashree : All from Himalaya Publishing House.
All the very best.

Madam
HR is a vast subject. By reading books, we will be knowing fundamentals. By practice of service, it comes slowly to our knowledge.
However, the books prescribed to the students of MBA-HR. Mostly will be enough for knowledge purpose.
