My MD.asked me to make salary slips for employees,whose sal is 10,000.
pls provide me knowledge on preparing payslips....

Dear Sandip,
If the salary is for RS 10000/-
Basic - 40 % of 10000 - 4000.(50% of basic incase of metro cities)
HRA - 40% of Basic - 1600
conveyance - 800 (fixed)
spl. allowance - 3600 ( remaining amount )
Deductions
PF- 12% of Basic - 480
ESIC - 1.75 % of gross- 175
Professional tax -80rs

I have a query. If someone is on leave for 10 days (without pay) does the basic salary changes or it remains the same. I mean if someone's salary is 10,000 and basic comes to 4000/- then what happens of leave withoug pay days. How do we calculate the workding days salary.

Salary is calculated on the basis of number of days present at work this is also for Basic salary. Basic salary will also vary as per the number of days worked.
Short example
Basic salary-10000
Total days-31
Days worked-20
Days absent-11
Basic salary-10000/31*20=6451.61
