is reproduced below which is self explainatory. Kindly discuss and respond.

To,

Subject: Request for Suggestions and Objections on Revised Draft Labour Policy

A draft Labour Policy, 2011 was published on the Government website ‘www.maharashtra.gov.in’ in

November, 2010. Based on suggestions and objections raised and internal discussions in the said

regard, changes have been incorporated and a revised Draft Labour Policy Document. This has also

been made more pointwise as was suggested by some of the stakeholders.

This Labour Policy 2011 represents a statement of intentions. It provides guidelines for future

action but, in itself, is not legally binding. It may, however, lead to the introduction of new laws to

give positive expression to stated intentions and thus provides a framework for change.

This Policy Document represents a statement of the Government’s intentions concerning the world of

work and thus provides guidelines for interactions between workers and employers in the organized

sector, the role of trade unions and employers’ organizations, guidelines for the protection of workers

in the unorganized sector, including of persons in self-employment, and guidelines for the

intervention of government directed to ensuring policy intentions are actually implemented.

You are requested to give your valuable suggestions and objections on the Policy Document upto

31st March, 2012 on following adress,to enrich it and make it more valuable for both workers and

employers in the unorganized and organized sector.

Shri Sudin Gaikwad,

Under Secretary (Labour)

Industries, Energy and Labour Department,

Mantralaya, Mumbai – 400 032.
