Concept of executive higher education

Executive education programmes help companies create a smarter workforce with a high rate of technology absorption ,It gives them greater scope for growth .And the Indian market, which is poised to be one of the Worlds biggest ,shouldn’t be missing out on this opportunity, However, the concept of long term, university –recognised and comp0any-sponsored education has yet to gain force in India .While every corporation worth its salt has an executive development programme (in the form of refresher courses ,worshops and seminars), few companies encourage their executives to take time off from work over long periods of time to go back to B-school. And they have strong reasons for not doing so. Saya Mathew Abraham, Hr manager The Oberoi ,Most organizations are not in a position to send their ( middle and higher level) executives back to B-school. It is a fact that enormous costs are involved in packing them off to Institutes in India and abroad where is the guarantee that they will return to the same organization? He adds.

Therefore. organisations in India view the concept of having shorter, mo9re intense programmes as viable alternatives to lenthy diploma or MBA courses that stretch up to a year or more in duration .Companies also have the option of commissioning customized programmes, like the ones offered by the Indian School of Bussiness (ISB), Hyderabad, and Lintas executive school Northpoint, which aim at troubleshooting specific challenges or addressing unique organizational concerns ,Our shorter curses are very popular says ISB’s Director of Communication Bhuvana Ramalingam, However ,instances of companies sponsoring their employees for lengthier programmes are not very common.

University education is making a comeback today .Only this time ,it’s senior managers and executives who are revisiting the campuses they once left for good Executive education, or continuing education ,is a phenomenon emerging worldwide ,Organizations are encouraging their top functionaries to take study sabbaticals to enable them to keep up with emerging trends in business and management .The goal of these executive learning programmes is to provide government and corporate executives with realistic. Practical public policy and leadership education that is relevant to their professional and personal educational goals. Corporate houses worldwide believe that they can help broaden the mental horizons of their top executives and managers by sponsoring educational programmes for them at the formal level.

Well!
A comprehensive study and an interesting point raised.
I feel where it comes to imparting training/education to top executives, time and cost should be the pivotal point. As being strategist for the enterprises one can not deem to kill time which is of utmost importance in the lubrication of the corporate machinery. Thereby most of the global corporations now a days have more focuss towards meeting such training and education needs via e learning, which mentors by creating anwhere-anytime environment of learning.
It could be delivered on mobile, web, or computer depending upon the accessibility and other factors.
What say???
Thanks
