Hello Seniors,
I have always had this doubt about how performance management is actually done in a company. I have come across a lot of people who talk about aligning organizational goals to individual's goal, however they dont mention how...Also, it is said that managers provide the ratings to their employees and on the basis of that they (employees) get a pay raise. If this is true, then where does hr come into picture when performance appraisal is done?
I would be really obliged if you all can help me by throwing a few examples....
Thanks : )

Hi,
what you said is true it happens the same way; aligning organisation goals to department and individauls goals it cascade down the line. Coming to role of HR, we faciliate and help the organisation in this alignment process and assit the managers in creating the goal documents and in performance reviews.
