Hi to all my colleagues and seniors
I have 1.5 years of experience in HR Generalist profile but after 1 year gap from job i m getting job offer only in recruitment..because the area where i am looking job, there is mainly jobs in recruitment only. So please suggest me, is it good for me to move into recruitment and which one is better BPO recruitment or IT recruitment.
Thanks.

Hi Ishita,
Emphasis more on your area of interest.
U should do mass hiring when it comes to bpo, so u might feel it as a monotonous job after a certain period of time.
If you understand IT skills, IT recruitment will be a cake walk for u.
Recruitment itself is a ocean. If you love the job u will get rewards.

Hi Ishita,
If you have done it before & you are comfortable with number chasing with unexpected last minutes dropouts then you can opt for BPO hiring. Although last minutes dropouts can be in any industry but then in BPO /Insurance I have seen it a little higher than other industries. Not sure what kind of hiring will you do in IT but as a personal opinion I think it will be better to go for IT hiring.

Thanks Rajesh and Prashant for your suggestions. Actually my interest is mainly in generalist profile but as i said earlier there is the opportunity in recruitment only so i want to know one thing after working in Recruitment it will be easy to get job again in generalist profile?

Ishita,
You can pick up up a recruitment job for the time being and keep scouting for Generalist role. The ealier you get it the better it would be even though you will be in HR only when working in recruitment . One aspect which is advantageous to you is that you have already worked in HR Generalist role for a decent 1.5 years which will help you in getting a HR generalist role even after 1-1.5 years or a little more of pure recruitment experience as your basics for Generalist HR will be clear. But as I said see if you can get into generalist HR role as quickly as possible.

Hi Ishitha,
If you couldn't able to get a generalist role, you can try out for job that includes a part of generalist role like payroll executive or admin related work. I don't think u will find tough in finding such jobs. You can try out for such jobs, where u will find such administrative jobs in consultancies also so u can opt out rather than getting into recruitment.

Rajesh
