One can not take any leave during N.Period unless for emergency reasons. If taken, the N.Period has to be extended equivalent to the period of leave taken. The purpose of NP is for smooth transition and one can not have the right to avail the accumulated outstanding leaves during the NP. Those unavailed leaves will be encashed during FnF settlement.

Dear friend
Please do not take leave during notice period. In some company they may extend your notice period according to the shortfall of notice period (30 days). Some Company do not sanction the leave. If you say valid reasons also most of the employers can suspect that you are going to work in your new company during this leave period and they will treat you badly.
It is better to keep the PL unavailded becaus any how you will get the PL encashment for the balance leave and also leave earned for the current year. Or you can compensate or surrender your PL and you can quit the company earlier as you like.
This is for your information from my side

Dear sayantanee86,
Many company's now a days have the policy of a 1 month notice period, and no leaves should be availed during the notice period,(i.e Long Leaves such as PL) but if u have balance CL's u can take it on a prorata basis i.e for example if you have 8 casual leaves in a year and you are leaving in the month of September calcualte the leaves which u can take as follows:-
Till September 273*8/365=5.9=6leaves till september,if u have crossed the above limit the same shall be deleted from your full and final

Notice Period is completely dependant on Company Rules - Mainly your relationship with your Manager & HR. If it is OK, you can use Notice period in the way you like.
And if there is a concern with Manager/HR(rules), then you will have to serve. In my last organization, HR insisted me to give 3 months notice period without leave. And if a leave is taken, the notice period will be extended for those many days...,

Nobody can stop a person from availing leave.
It does not mean that, when u r in notice period, you cannot take leave.
The person can take leave, and the leave taken during the notice period to be adjusted against his PL/EL

hello, you can avail leave during your notice period. But you need the permission of your reporting boss and HR owing to the fact that notice period is basically for handing over the charges and completing the assignments entrusted to you.If for some reason you are not available then it might so happen that your notice period may be extended. I would suggest you not to avail any leave during the notice period.Anyways, your accumulated leave will be en cashed. You should always depart from the organisation with a happy note.
