Hi Special Girl,

Why dont you first think properly and frame your question for us to respond positively and properly. It seems you are not sure about what you want and how to frame the question. How can we help you.

There are letters meant for placing somebody on probation, giving project work which will not entail any payment. There are lot of clauses involved in employing such a person. In what kind of role he will be employed and whether such employement will be in a hazardous area, or in a place where he will be able to access confidential information of the company, what will happen to his employment after two weeks, so many questions arise. To the best of my knowledge, in the past 2 decades we have not issued any such letter. A person is normally appointed on probation for a period of six months and if his performance turned out to be below par, he will then be terminated with one month's notice. For two weeks, we dont have to issue any appointment letter at all. What can you observe somebody in just two weeks' time... Do you think it is sufficent to observe somebody's performance in two weeks !

Please do your homework and also consult your Managers in your organisation, whether such letter is required at all.

Best wishes

Dear Special Girl,

From the way you have given your post and secondly from your tendency to hide your name or location, it appears that you are quite introvert person. Let me caution you that this very introversion may be counter productive for your career growth. Therefore, firstly you need to open yourself.

Anyway the format of the letter could be as below:

+++++

Date: -

To,

Mr/Ms _______

_____________

_____________ (address)

Permission to Work as Management Trainee / Industrial Trainee

2. We hereby grant you this permission. Your training will start from ____ (date) and it will end on ____ (date).

3. Permission to do this management/industrial training in our hospital should not be construed as an employer-employee relationship. Therefore, you will not be paid any salary for this period. Neither you will be covered under labour laws applicable to our hospital.

4. However, you can avail of the following facilities of our hospital:

a)

b)

c)

Fill in the blanks as required or strike out the unwanted details. Prepare the above letter on your company's letterhead and obtain the signature of the individual on the second copy.

By the way, it is customary to pay some industrial allowance to trainees. Making anyone work "free" is unethical business practice. It will erode your company's image. You will never be able to attract talented trainees if you want anyone to work free. Try to understand those who are ready to work free are in-confident persons. Therefore, you may talk to your management and tell them to give allowance as per the market standards.

Dear Mr. Dinesh
Esteem members of this site, including your goodself, had been advising/supporting/guiding/helping new members on similar guide lines but we don't know, how many had even tried to embrace/implement those changes are requested.
Moreover, many don't even want to try to learn "how to draft a letter" but, they just love to seek help and promote their SPOON FEEDING HABIT.
I would love to say, these guys don't even have guts to approach their seniors seeking relevant help, that could have helped them to develop interpersonal relationship. This is because of inferior complex and it is also one of the factors for SPOILING RELATIONSHIP.
Thanks a lot for helping SPECIAL GIRL and others as well, and this will go till dooooooooooms day...
With profound regards

Mr.. Kahdir

I fully endorse your views. During our times, there was no internet, not even STD facility on telephones. We survived... we depended upon our own English skills, approaching seniors and sought their help and guidance who were more than willing to share their knowledge, skills and experience. As you rightly said, seniors are abundant in this site, they find it easier to pose a question here in bad English and we find it difficult to understand first what they want ! lolz....

It is agonizing to see the present trend amongst youngsters. Everybody here says she or he is an MBA in HR, but are unable to write one full sentence in proper English. Despite their qualifications, they are unable to frame their questions, put their thoughts in writing. To some extent, the educational Institutions have a share in this collapse. They are churning out MBAs like tablets in pharmaceutical factories ! Children have lost their interest in reading & writing habits. Indians were supposed to be very good in drafting skills and that has also gone for a toss, thanks to the degeneration of English from Essay Writing, Poetry, to Email English and from there to Mobile Lingo......

Dooooooooom's day is not far off, I feel ! hmmmmm

Best regards
