Hi

The following tips should help you to analyze yourself, the work environment and your own performance at work.

1. Be open to feedback. This means that you must LISTEN to what people around you say, what your boss says, what your friends at work say etc. Pay attention to those things that they indicate to you are your weakness or areas where you have to improve. Sometimes you may feel they are wrong but don't get angry just ignore those comments. However if you know they are right you must try to correct yourself. eg. My feedback to you is that you must improve your English communication skills. You should have typed your query in WORD and made the corrections and then cut and pasted it in here.

2. Introspect. This means you must sit quietly and think about your life, you academics, your aspirations, your goals etc. When doing this do a analysis of your strengths and weakness and write them down. eg. Your strength is that you are willing to share your problems so that you can find answers to it.

3. Improve your attitude. You can try to me more positive, more friendly, less critical etc. When your attitude improves your behavior, your interaction and your communication also improves a lot.

4. Do SOMETHING constructive to change. Don't just analyze; you must have a plan of action and implement it. eg. If you have to go for spoken English classes find such a class and enroll immediately.

I also invite you to read the following Inspirational and Motivational Blogs

I am sure if you implement the above you will find a big positive change and success will soon follow.

All the best.

Dear Gurjeet,

No one is going to teach you about your work until you’ll try to learn and if you really wanna learn the things as you said above, have to ask them regularly in a humble and polite manner but if still you think that your seniors are not ready to teach you, please just do your work and wait for sometime..in the mean, while you have to grab the things are going on your around.

You have to learn by yourself, need to keep your eye open on the work and grab the things what others are doing and how they are doing…

Also you need to give sometime to yourself and to your superiors bcz I don’t think the peoples who have hired you are not intended to get their work done by you..They have recruited you with a purpose and will certainly expect something by you and ask you to perform according to their needs.

Perhaps you are too curious to have handle the work and wanna learn the things rapidly and just bcz of your this quickness, made you feel that your seniors are not ready to help you in learning the work but actually there is nothing like that.

How much time you have spent with your current organizer bcz it seems to me that you are a beginner/ trainee/ new blood. You have to run according to their demands and don’t need to run too fast. I appreciate your this enthu that you wanna learn the things but my dear you have to give time to them and to yourself.

You need to be polite and humble with them and need to gain their confidence, show them that you are ready to handle the work and to learn, so that they will assign you some job and help you in your learning..

Anil has put it correctly. In this competitive world, you should learn how to stand on your own legs. Do not expect expect others help but just watch their style of functioning and fine tune your style in line with the company policies. No magic but little hard word is required.
