Plz help me out.
We are about to start salary fixation for contract workers.
Can you please tell me whether worker would be paid for 26 days or 30days? The management is asking for reference of the specific act, in which it is mentioned.
Please help me out..its urgent.......

Dear Gayatri,
worker would be paid for maiximum working days. means it depend on month. if month is 31 n weekly off is 04 then it would be paid 27, if month is 30 and weekly of are 04 then it would be paid for 26.
wages is fix only of rmaximum working days.

For daily paid worker, the multiplication factor is 30/31 as the case may be, to arrive the monthly wages as the worker is eligible for rest day wages (sunday). If you divide the monthly wages to calculate the daily wages, the factor is 26/27 as the case may be.

we are a new engineering unit under ssi category near chennai. we want to hire contract labour to be engaged in machineries as welder,fitter,machinist etc. total number will be around 20 persons. whether we can engage them in the machinery.we have no other company direct workers. we will be taking registered labour contractor. and we will go for license under TN labour contract act for engaging the labour contractor.please advise me.
