Dear Seniors, Is it necessary to show deductions in salary certificate or just earning details is enough, kindly confirm my query?

  • There is no thumb rule or fixed format of Salary certificate. You can decide either way.
  • Some times salary certificates are needed for specific purpose, say for applying for loan from Bank. In such case, Bank is interested in knowing employees real net income to decide on the loan repayment capacity of the borrower and they insist on providing Certificate with deductions. In fact some banks have a fixed and very detailed printed format, which they want to be filled and signed by employer. Such format gives very clear picture of both Gross Salary and Net Salary of the employee. Such format also discloses, in case employee has taken any loan from employer, what is loan installment and what is outstanding loan amount.

Can i Ask the institute to mention all the deductions in my salary certificate to know where and how they have deducted my salary for?? If deductions are unclear can i ask for explanations??????
