Discipline in organisations is generally guided by the Service or HR Manual. However to organisaitons to which the Model Standing Orders are applicable, there is an illustrative list of misconducts stated in clause 24 for which the disciplinary process has to be followed. Displaying the extract of the Industrial Employment Standing Orders Act in a prominent place, will ensure that the employees know, what will amount to misconduct and they will know the limits. Alternatively you can have an orientation programme in the co. and set out the service rules and guidelines which should be shared with the employees.
