I am regular employee of indian oil corp. ltd. My basic pay is reduced after issue of basic pay fixation letter. I have worked in the offciating capacity in the higher pay of ten percent from my existing pay for some time and after due time i got promotion in the same grade.so my earlier pay fixation is done on the increased amount of my ten percent and my real basic. but now, the management have refix my basic on normal basic leaving ten percent.
I would like to know whether basic once fixed can be reduced or not....

Your query is not clear, whether you have worked in officiating capacity only for sometime on the higher post and now reverted back to your original post OR you are still working in officiating capacity on the higher post?

Dear User........
First of all I would like to suggest you to provide your details with your designation & department in which you are working and also the grade pay for the category. your query is really not so clear, anyway whatsoever the management has decided about the basic salary fixation is right as per the laws.
Thanks & Regards.

Hi,
As per existing scenario, Basic is normally 60% of the Basic Salary or 50% of the Basic Salary the reason being that, P.F contribution is done Basic Salary so employee is benefited with maximum contribution and also the Gratuity / Leave encashment is calculated on Basic + DA.
Regarding the Reducing the Basic Pay, Normally Basic Salary will not be reduced unless it is a case or de-promoted/non performance
