hello sir i joined as management trainee in a company and signed an agreement for 5 years but here i had a doubt about initial duties of mine. org told that i have to observe the house keeping movement and security slert. in addition to this have to observe the employee movement in the company whether they are coming to office intime or not. is these are my duties as a mba hr personnel ? and company ordered to come in shifts is it require for hr people to come in shifts?

i am a hr-student who worked for a company under internship. as per me your work is not of hr-profesionals, let me ellaborate.
first of all to observe house keeping movemnt and security it is the duty of house keeping supervisor and security officer who need a initial qualification of 10th or puc.
second there is no shifts for hr professions
thirdly employee movement is not ur duty it is the duty of supervisors, some times you can go for a audit of employee grooming, absence, their dressing , uniform(this will be like you are keeping check on it. a suspense visit to the floor)
as a hr the basic duties you are supposed to do is
-filing the employement duties
-recruting
-helping ur senior in his/her work(all management work)
-appointment letter
--hris update
-esi-pf update
-handling grievence
-
-
-many more da

Take the things in a positive way. Since you joined as a Mgt Trainee, consider all assignments as an opportunity to learn. House keeping, Security & Time office activities are the basic things and ofcourse, these are part of HR and you are getting an opportunity to acquire practical exposure, which will help you at a later stage when you become a Manager. Don't miss it. Further, if the company's work requirement involves shift working, don't hesitate to comply with it. After all, you were hired to deliver according to the orgnizations requirements - do it sincerely, though I could not digest 5 year's service agreement.

As KSGopal said, you should keep doing these jobs considering them a part of your training for upcoming posts i.e. managerial level post. Doing MBA doesn't make you qualified for a white collar job immediately, you must have to learn and earn experience.
However, you should come to an understanding with your management as "how long shall you do these jobs?".

Hi Jagadeesh,
To become the best HR first of all we know how the other manpower/departments work in your Organization. So, if you the gaps in those then only you can bridge or fulfill the HR requirements (mostly helpful in recruitments, identifying their training needs & etc., for better contrbution).
If as an HR we must learn and then teach/train them.
So, make optimum utilization of the oppurtunity.
