If one of any family member is sick for 10 days then, which leave he/she should apply casual he/she can not apply, because time period is of 10 days and EL he/she has just 3 in his/her leave account. Your views and inputs are welcome.

This is the only solution or you have any other solution because, it will affect employee from two end. personally he is bit disturbed because his family member is not well and on the other hand it will be financial loss also .

Dear Rajesh,
if he doesn't have enough leave in balance, he has to bear this loss of pay. the only way to overcome this problem, he should speak to his reporting manager, if these leaves can be adjusted in future balance. before doing so, he should keep in mind his past records of leaves and how good he is in performance.
Managers do help their team in such scenario, if team mates have developed a good rapport with their managers in terms of attendance, leave, work performance, meeting deadlines etc.

Hey Rajesh,
Here he can avail SL and EL. We can club up EL and SL in case when employee is not well for long and dont have enough SL. If any SL is left in his account,then he can take SL and rest EL. Then also it depends upon his management if they can give him Advance EL if he have completed 6 months in the org.
But SL and EL can be taken together.

If a person has 10 casual leaves to his credit balance; he can apply for it. Although CL is generally not given for longer duration; however, under "exceptional" circumstances, it can be granted.
It all depends on (i) the employee-friendliness of the organization; (ii) the reputation of the employee himself (a dedicated employee who doesn't take much leave) and (iii) a positive inclination of the competent authority to grant CL.

Long leave for 10 days will necessarily have to be EL. In this case 3 days will be treated as EL and the balance 7 days will be LWP.
However, some companies have a practice of granting EL in advance to help the employee from suffering loss of pay. This is adjusted againt future accumulation of EL. You may like to consider this.

Rajesh,
Here the resource can avail 3 EL and the balance period of absence can be adjusted against the EL at the time of accounting period provided you obtain a sanction as leave is a privilege. Else 7 days go as without pay.
