Dear All,
Amonia is used abundantly in cold storages and often leaks, causing harm to people and the vegitation in the effected area.
Do we have any guide lines to be followed by the cold storage owners regarding leak detection and control measures for mitigating the situation?
What suitable preventive measures should be followed?
What facilities should be installed for minimising the damage in case of uncontrolled leak?
Any on site / off site emergency plans ?
What are the statutory regulations ?
Answers to these question will help me in advising a few freinds related with cold storage. This will certainly help the cause of safety and environment.

Please refer my earlier post to this thread.
I am expecting some sugestions regarding preventive measures / control measures in case of ammonia leak.
Small inputs from individuals will help us to develope something very good.
Regards to all.

Dear mr. Raman
Go through the below link and you can get the MSDS of Ammonia... I think it covers the answer to your query... If Ammonia is used in Cold Storage or any other application we suppose to follow these precautions...

Looking forward to hear the experts comments against this post...
