Dear All,
Please let me know what all positions needs to be included in org. chart, as far as i know main org. chart includes only the key positions or the Top management and there are separate charts for every department... Kindly correct me if i am wrong.
And also let me know, does non-executive directors also shown in org. chart.
Early reply in this regard would be highly appraciated.

Hi Neetu,
If you are preparing an org. chart of the entire organisation, you need not include each and every position. But you need to include important departments like Finance, HR & Admin , Marketing, Technical, operations.... May be under each department, you can mention the number of employees in senior mgt., middle mgt. and Junior mgt. levels.
Separate charts for each department with all the positions included needs to be prepared.

Neetu u a right, also adhere to what ..kanduri said,u dont need to put all things from top to down,i dont know how that will appear even in A4 page, just maintain an important face of Adm-Fincance etc, make sure all of them appear just in one page not slopping into several sheets.Organisation structure should posed in the front rear of the orgn and a copy in each deaprtment with strucutre of that deaprtment beside.Thats all i can say.

Greetings,

The org chart is prepared and documented, including every role in the organization. But, the chart is presented in parts for various requirements as shared below:
  1. For business and sales ppt, you would present the primary leaders, Business units and show an overview to the lines of reporting.
  2. If you have to use this diagram during presentation to the operation team, include the leaders and reportees with names and designation.
  3. During induction you present the overview to the main chart, with top leaders, business units and reporting structures with designations. Until and unless the person is vital, you don’t mention the name.
  4. Finally every department should have the printout to the org chart including information flow and reporting structures pasted on the notice board in full view to everyone. The reporting structures will include the matrix and by lanes. Here, this may structure include roles and not the names.
Please do revert if you have further queries.

Hello Neetu,
(Cite Contribution) is right.
It all depends on the PURPOSE of the Organisational Chart.
Depending on the 'why' of it, the details would change accordingly, with the 'relevance for the purpose' being in focus all the while.
