Hi
May be you can focus on the following:
1. Creative Thinking
2. Client Psychology - interaction, voice modulation, colloquialism
3. Geographic Market Segmentation
4. Market Strategies
5. Focus on their mode of communication and Slang
6. Client Details - nature of business, team size, target audience.
I think this might give you some idea.
Regards,
P Umesh.

Hi,

Very nicely put Umesh.

Kavita in addition to these you try and identify your priority areas

for the Marketing Team.

Here are some thought building patterns:

First prepare yourself and be absolutely clear about:

1. What is the Marketing Department all about - Does it need to exist for your business - how do they contribute, their role in your Organization.

2. How they have a direct Impact on the Business Objectives.

3. How do they have their impact on products & customers.

(I assume your marketing department to be PR & product development as against Sales as the word is generically used).

I recommend you then look at the Activities and Processes. Then at the profile of your people. Here you will begin to sense and perhaps notice a gap which in many ways can be filled through certain specific strategies. You can recommend those.

To lightly touch such areas you can work with them about are

1. Product Strategies and their perception

2. Using your Organization's resources as a Brand in addition to just product branding etc.

Bottom line is INCREASED VISIBILITY!

In my opinion telling the marketing department how to do their job well will get you a "oh yeah try tellin me that  " response.

Rather your focus should be on showing them how to link what they have to what they want and make use of the resources they have.

Now thats a very generic thought pattern but I guess as you read those last few lines..you have really begin to have an understanding of how you want to contribute.

Yes and if you still haven't made the presentation you can reach out to the team and ask them their expectations out of the presentation/training.

Best Wishes

Nad
