We have software for payroll but is there any way wherein we can keep record of leave taken by each and every employee.
Like some 15 yrs ago (during my boss working days), there used to be a system of card leave, wherein every employee used to mark their leave on that card and it would be signed by their HOD and HR. THis card woud be with the employee itself.
My boss wants something in the same way or any new way wherein the employee is aware of his balance leaves and has his records with themselves as well.
Though we have leave application form, in which we have a column of No. of leaves remaining. Kindly let me know what are the other ways or any new way of keeping record of leaves.

Dear Rashmi I would suggest you can adopt the way your boss was implementin. Similar like practice is followed in Integral Coach Factory of Indian Railways Regards MPMS

Thanks for the format,i would like to suggest one more thing,that is in the format the total available leaves for the current year is not mentioned.
It should be included so that both the employee and the employer may know the pending leaves available and how much leaves can a employee may avail.
