Meeting / discussion within four walls is quite different, when compare to
speaking in front of known/ unknown.
My experience recently in two or three occassions was that all words / info / message etc goes off from the memory.
Am told chunking / voice modulation is also very critical as I move up in the corporate ladder fas well pulling attention & avoid boering speech
I strongly believe in more practicing & structure learning and suggest how to over come .....

Dear Rajagopal,
For this you need to take training on presentation skills. Public speaking skills is soul of presentation skills.
I do conduct the training on presentation skills. In one of my batches, the participants had experienced the change in them. It was well discernible to outsiders also. You can click here to read their mails.
Please confirm how can we go ahead. By the way, to make you aware of my training activities, I have attached my Training e-Brochures to this post.
Thanks,

Dear Mr. Rajagopal

Greetings

Let me give you some useful???? tips for public Speaking

In one press meet Churchill was telling for question about preparation for a public speaking, He told he will take 30 minutes for preparation where he requires to speak for 3 hours and for 3 minutes speach he will take at least 3 hours time for preparation.

Because it is as like making a movie (3 hours speach) you can pass the time in side lined items like comedy, action, romance and 3 minutes speach is as like advertisement within 20 seconds it should reach the mind and heart of the viewer, which should not take much time and it should be pin pointed.

Second one is whenever you are preparing for a speach you must think of the audience who are listening, about their standard of education, range of spectators, subject you are delivering the speach, everything concerned. (One should not speak as like election meeting in IAS/IPS Officer conference and One should not speak as like IAS/IPS Officers Conference speach in Election Meeting)

To conquer the FEAR (F-False, E-Evidence, A-Appears, R-Real) while climbing on the stage, just take permission from the organiser/chair person who is available in stage, and have a smile on your face, by facing towards the audience, wish them with greetings (Good Morning Friends/ Good Afternoon Comrades / Good Evening Ladies and Gentlemen) then you start your speach with a small jokey story and proceed further.

In your first 30 seconds itself if you can attract all the audience towards you means it will become a successful speach.

Hope the above will be useful for you.

Dear Mr. Rajagopal

While browsing I got following details on the above subject. Hope it may be useful for our members

If you have the fear of public speaking, you are not alone. You must first recognize what “fear” is. Fear is the anticipation of pain. Is your fear real or imagined?

Here are some great insights into Overcoming Fear of Public Speaking.

Steps to Overcome Fear of Public Speaking -

1. Fears – The fear of being judged, making a mistake, not measuring up, getting hurt either mentally or physically can get in the way of a good performance (speech, seminar, sales presentation, etc). Remember that people in the audience really want you to succeed. Nobody is standing there hoping you’ll be boring or bad. If you are coming from an authentic place, and you cover the material with clarity, you’ve won 3/4 of your inner battle with fear.

2. Learn how to enroll and engage your audience - If you haven’t yet taken a professional development course on public speaking, consider finding a public speaking training course appropriate for your needs. Learning the art of public speaking can enhance your results in a boardroom, in a sales presentation, and even accelerate your climb up the corporate ladder. It is a must-skill for any executive and/or business owner.

3. Practice - Find business organizations, networks and clubs in your area (such as Toastmasters) that can afford you the opportunity to practice. Remember to choose topics that you are already an expert on. Speaking on a topic that you are not familiar with will increase your stress, and impede on your performance.

4. Use recording software - Record everything on your PC/laptop. Review it to see where you can improve. Have speaking pros attend your live presentation to give you feedback. Allow yourself the opportunity to learn more every time you go out.

5. Remember, even the top professionals learn something new every single time they go out!
