Knowledge sharing is of two types. The first type that is followed prominently on this forum is to copy some file from some other website and upload it here. Other members then start commenting "beautiful material" "Excellent sharing" and so on. While putting these comments they don't realise that were they experts of the field/subject to give comments of that type.
The second knowledge sharing is sharing your experience in implementation of the knowledge. Nobody on earth has succeeded 100% while implementation. There are failures always. It requires big heart in sharing your failures. Nothing teaches us other than failures. Failures register on our mind than success. "Failure sharing' is far more important than "Knowledge sharing". Even if 1% members of this forum come forward and start sharing their failures, the forum will become No 1 HR forum of the world. Do failures are shared openly anywhere? Yes these are. There is famous financial daily "Business Standard". On every Tuesday, a supplement is published titled "Strategist". Occasionally some MD of company shares his/her failure how they had goofed up or even committed blunder. Once I read story written by person none less than MD of Naukri.dom on how they allowed www.jobsahead.com to overtake them.
Though I mentioned the two types of knowledge sharing. The third knowledge sharing is also there. It exclusively of this forum. There are large number of lazy members of this forum. They don't want to do some Google search. They upload some post. Other members jump merrily to spoon-feed them. They search this forum and come up with past links. For doing this secretarial or clerical job they again get a pat on their back!

The above observation of Dinesh Divekar is very true. In addition people raising queries do not give enough background information (For example, who they are, where the work, what is the nature of the organisation or work being done, why the query is being raised?). And so called experts will double guess all these basic information that should have been given, or requested (before giving solutions), only to find the blogger gives more information and then the solution provided has to be modified.
I do not see any problem in uploading material available elsewhere with due CITATION. However, may bloggers just either copy and paste what's available or what is sent to them by email (sometimes even without cheching the veracity of the claims).

Thanks for your precious inputs. Knowledge sharing part for us is professional interactions with our HR TEam. We like professionals to talk on a topic chosen by him to the team members. We would like professionals to talk on their success stories & fialures during the journey of HR.
This way lot of interactions would happen which inturn would help us understanding the ways to work.
The speakers can talk on any topic like competency mapping, potential analysis, retention strategies etc etc.
Please provide your feedback.

How many participants will be there? Are you expecting experts (!) to give just a talk or would you like it to be an interactive session?

It is rightly said by Mr Dinesh and i would like to add that learning from your own mistake is a great thing to do, but 'learning from others mistake' is the greatest thing to do in this world. Failures are the pillars of success but, if keep on committing failures you will build only pillars or it may take a long time to reach the pinnacle of success, but learn from other's failures and success will come soon.
This is a good iniative and creative thinking by Mr. Veerendra. Are there any activites taking place in Mumbai?

It is correct that knowledge not shared is like a dead wood, but it can also not be denied, knowledge shared in a very wide open knowledge sharing platform is far better than sharing in a captive forum, like yours organization, where you may be inviting the people of this forum may be to enhance the knowledge of the members of your own teams in a very limited way that too at your own premises.
Do you think that this forum is not a forum for sharing a knowledge, where at the time of this post there are 10543 Users online, while you have in your teams just 12 and 6 at different places in a captive form? Please advise if sharing knowledge amongst 10543 Users right from our own place is more fruitful or that shared amongst 18 members only by coming to your place without any benefit? If there are certain benefits to the members by coming at your place that you may probably like to clarify.
Are the members of your teams shy of coming forward, or lacking confidence to come openly to share their knowledge at this forum of CiteHR, or they think their time is quite precious than that of others sharing their knowledge at this forum and they do not want to waste that even to the slightest extent?
Better they should come forward to enhance the knowledge of all the members of this forum rather than keeping their knowledge as deadwood having not shared that openly at this forum. That way all the member of this forum would be able to get benefited from their precious knowledge, if they really have.
