Dear Friends,
I am from Chennai, we have recently started one service oriented business,(we have not register our company) we got one offer from one MNC company, they require 6 staff from my company, for this they are asking labor license,
kindly help me this issue, please give me the suggestion, what is the necessity to get labour license? for only 6 person,should i get license?

If you engage only six labourers you are not required by Law to get licence. But if you do not take licence as is required by the Contract Labour (Abolition and Regulation) Act, you can not find good offers also. Licence is for one year and by that time you may get more offers also. Therefore, it is advisable to get licence.

Dear Member,
There is no necessity to have labour licence. How you will get licence on employment of six contact workers/ employees when the Contract labour ( R&A) Act, 1970 is not applicable on you.

Hi,
It is always advicable to take a Licence.
First of all you have to do is check with the Principle Eployers Labour Registration Certificate.
In the registration itself they have to mention your name(Contractor;s Name) along with the No. of contract Labour.
The next thing is take the work Order and fill in Form 5 at the Labour Dept. Then, they will issue a license to your firm. Please take licence for more no. of contarct labour(even now it is 6 make it to 18 or 20) as even if there is a change in number then the principle employer has to renew the registration again and again....and just check in at Labour Office for more info...

You have to take labour license for your firm.It will be helpful for your firm in future.Otherwise you will face problems.
