I would like to know about new time to time activities which HR department can do to generate interest of the employees in the organisation.
Our annual day is due for sometime in near future and I would like to introduce some new and interesting activities, which involves employees and their families. What are the different activities we should do so that we can generate interest in the employees about the annual day at the same time for the organisation.

Dear Sirohi,
In our organization, quaterly we have Lunch/Dinner/Movie/outing for office staff. Ofcource it should involve some games too.
These kind of casual activities are helpful for team building.

hm.. I feel in such events, games should be like which everybody can participate with family n enjoy..like quiz on GK(KBC), where winning team may get free tickets for movie or dinner/lunch passes

We are a company of 400+ and always in search of new programmes of employee's interest.We have also taken them out and done drawing competition where we have framed and displayed their work inside the office.More than anything else I have realised that devisionwise quiz competition was the biggest entertainer and success and staff involvement was of very high level.We saw great improvement in team building and support.
Now we are planning to have carrom competition .

We are a company of 900 and we have every month activies like colour day, surprise day, boss day out, guess it etc.
And its real fun the success of these program lies in promoting these events and should make people participate.

Hi Bhavana,
Every Month is dedicated to one activitity. In Color Day every team should pick up a team color the best looking team will get a prize. On a Surprise Day, every team has to choose a theme and decorate their work stations based on the theme. Guess it day will have multiple events like
by asking the weight a Cake that is displayed , how many choclates are there in the glass bottle without counting it, and few quizzes. We also have Pot Luck Day where everybody brings their home made dishes and share.

Other events what we can have is Howzzzzat.. a cricket match we had betweeen MD's 11 and CEO's 11, Dandikya Nite, Jingle Bells in December, Diwali Dhamaka in November and use your creativity, you will definitely come out with lot more ideas. Do share it when u have some thing innovative.

Spouse Photo : Anyone with Spouse photo in Purse (Not Bag)- at Function
