Hi
There should be a policy to pay the bills (if the company decides on) in terms of reimbursement or any other mode and it should be defined cadre wise or as per the salary break ups and entirely depends on your company payroll policy for employees.

Hi,
This question related to Policy for paying personal bills was asked in an Interview because these days young professionals who are staying alone are working for more than 10 hours and they don't have time to pay even the electricity bill, telephone bill, insurance bills etc. now to help them paying these bills what should we do?

Hi

Related to the Topic question "Paying Bills" there should be a Help Desk for the E'ee's convenience to facilitate. Probably at the Reception level of the Executives in HR or Admn can spend atleast 1 hr per day to help this kind of activities, through outsourced peope in the organisation. Now a days it is very common like getting Film ticket, B'day Boquet, Organising Party (small group!).

Hi
Just wanted to share a few thoughts and ideas on this.....
What we have to help employees is - we have placed a collection box at the reception, wherein all employees can drop in their bills with cheques and it is cleared once a day and the office boy who runs daily outside errands further goes and gets these deposited. Companies like Hutch etc place their own collection boxes also in large offices. you can try out this also.

Hi Pooja, Thank you for your views. I would also like to know are these companies charging any amount for paying these bills collected in the collection-box. Regards

Hi
If you are asking about Hutch etc I do not have exact details but I think it is a corporate tie-up. you will need to talk to them directly. As for the organisation itself, we are doing it as a free service to our employees because anyway our office boy goes out everyday 3-4 times so it is not an extra expense to the orgn also. Hope that resolves your query to some extent.

During the IT boom time few companies introduced this policy for arranging payment of personal bills. The objective was to save employees time and eventually that of company time. Since most of the employee use the office time for the purpose during working day. In todays situation its significance has reduce as payment can be made on line. Still it is worth a while to consider this assistance to earn employee good will.

IN GENERAL, THE POLICY SHOULD BE FRAMED KEEPING IN MIND THE SALES & SERVICE & PURCHASE EMPLOYEES. SIMULTANEOULSY THE EMPLOYEES WORKING IN THE GRADE OF MANAGER & ABOVE IN OTHER DEPARTMENTS SHOULD ALSO BE CONSIDERED. SOME CEILING SHOULD BE FIXED FOR MOBILE AS WELL AS FOR LANDLINE.
HOPE, THIS INPUT WILL HELP TO FRAME THE POLICY.
