Hello all,
I am associated with HR of one of the company having its registered office in Delhi but 40 people in Noida and 21 in Mumbai and 20 in two three different towns like Goa, Cochin etc.
We are depositing PF for all the employees in Delhi, last week some inspector visited our office for inspection.
Can he perform inspection from UP PF office for a company who is centrally processing all its deposits and reports in Delhi PF office, if so should it not be with the prior permission of Delhi PF office.
I have told him that whatever he inspects, he should send his report to Delhi office and on hearing from them we will adhere to what is found to be done.
Can somw body tell me, is it in their powers to inspect for company like us in Noida, who is registered in Delhi.
Regards
Ruby

Hi, Ruby,
Since u are under the jurisdiction of Delhi PF office the inspection should happen under the instruction of Delhi PF office and only the inspectors from Delhi office should visit your office. I do not know whether you asked them from which PF office they came to visit and check ur documents and whether u hv mentioned that u are under the jurisdiction of Delhi PF office. One PF office does not interfere in the matter of the establishments which is under the jurisdiction of another PF office unless there is request from the concerned PF office. You should immediately get in touch your jurisdictional PF authority and enquire whether they had sent any inspection team to your office and keep them posted. In future if you have any doubt regarding any inspection from PF office u can always defer it saying that concerned person is absent today or documents are not available readily here and ask them to visit another day with prior information. During the breather u can check from your jurisdictional authority about the correctness of the inspection.

As per my knowledge even if u are under the jurisdiction of Delhi PF office, and u are having your branches ot different locations which falls under (for example) U.P. office, the inspection team from UP PF office can perform the inspection because the said organization is comes under the coverage area of the respetive Regional Office. The team can perform the inspection whether the compliance is being made in proper manner or not. Either it is made from your Delhi Office they dont have any objection. The proper justification with documentary evidences is required to produce before the authority.

Dear Ruby,
Under Sec 2A of EPF & MP Act, records of the establishment (Noida) can be inspected by UP PF office. But in my knowledge they can see only Attendance sheet, Salary Sheeet, Challans summary and Form 6A of employees working at your Noida site only.

if any P.F. inspector vist at your site offices and ask to show the p.f returns than you can sent the photo copy of challans and and p.f. details they should show the employees, name and thier contribution, that contribution should reflect in P.F. Challans by this way you can prove that your establisment is depositing the p.f in respect of those employees working in site offices, because all most all companies in India deposit the challans form their Head Office, and even the companies deposit the different challans for different sites but all are form Head Office.
