Hi,
Want is a current structure of salary increments in a software development pvt. ltd. company.
1) If the employees are freshers and from a reputed institute who has completed BSC-IT or BE in IT or may be just B.COm and has done computer course from a reputed Institute.
2) If an employee is 6 months, 1 year or 2 years experienced.
3) We had initially given 5000 salary to the freshers which later in 6 months went upto 8000 and after completing a year we have increased to 15000. Now i need to know that once thay complete 2 years how much should we make there salaries.
I wanted to know the standard market rate or ----% of the basic salary should be added up.
Please let me know about my query.
Thanks

Hi Rajat & Satish,
Thankyou for your valuable information.
I have gone through salary survey reports of Jobstreet & Kelly Services both.
Would like to know one thing, are these the actual salary (Gross or Net)drawn by those particular designations or it is an ideal salary package they should get.
Pls let me know about this.
Thanks once again, if you have any other Salary survey reports do let me know.

Hi Rajat
Went across d link that u have provided,it seems not even near to the existing figure.it is showing a sr .mgr in mktn getting 20k which is absurd i guess & similarly 2 yr of exp an Hr exec in Delhi getting just 10k,which i don't think is even the tenative fig.
Do u have any say on this.......if Iam wrong

Hi Deepa & Ketan,

My apologies for delayed response as i was travelling for the last 2 weeks!.

Well, these links provide the tentative range and benchmark as how HR professionals would justify the compensation to new joinees to the Management relevant to your industry which often invariably is higher than the present employees with similar skillsets.

The other approach is use your network from the industry to determine your/positions salary range. Industry contacts can confirm and fine-tune the ranges you've devised.

Try to find contacts in your geographic region, since salary can vary widely from place to place.

Current or former employees of the company at which you're interviewing can help determine salary ranges at that particular organization.

Infact if one collates the data pertaining to relevant profiles with the current compensation from the databases like naukri.com & monster.com would give some benchmark.

Remember, many times people provide an extra margin or inflate their CTC which needs to be validated at the time of interview with supportings like company's increment letter ( which can be tampered with :D ) and Form 16 ( very reliable tool) or even bank statement. Here one needs to be guarded with the cash voucher payments and validate them through discrete check.

But, if you can afford to, you can also hire an expert. Executives in particular sometimes do as Coaches, compensation consultants and employment attorneys can research ranges for you. And professional pay advisers can often dig even deeper for specifics on a particular company because their networks tend to be bigger than the average person's.

Best wishes,

Rajat Joshi

is the only way prevailing & depends upon the oragnisation an individual is joining if it is an MNC then they have fixed sal str acc to the exp.But if the org is not a big giant then it depends upon your negotiation power & the existing CTC (as you said)which usually employees fake except in IT industries. So i think we cannot rely on such survey reports.

Right Deepa and Rajat. And also the renumeration depends on the vacancy. i.e if company wants the candidate urgently, it may compromise on salary front.
