I am working in Agra with Avalon Aviation academy. My problem is i am a very high paid employee this creates a problem for me. initially everybody is good to me but when other employees who are more experienced come to know that they are paid quite less then me they start doing politics against me, how to help these kind of problems i am just 23 n people who are aged above 30 feel insecured because of me though i am very humble with everyone, last week we had a meeting where our MD was discussing exepenses including salarieson that day every body came to knw ab my ctc n they started plotting against me they also questioned the md ab my salary. please advice.

Dear Sakshi,
Your MD paid you that salary because he must have felt that you are worth it. Ignore teh fact that others are irritatetd about your salary, and try reaching out to them with your humble (you say so) nature. Just interact with them and try making them see the positive side of you, the reason why you are highly paid.
This should not be a head ache for you at all. Relax and just be as good as how you were earlier.
The MD pays you because its his money..he knows what he must do with it!

I read ur issue..."politics",famous everywhere...I believe that this problem has no solution individually but yes in ur case...it seems that ur smart, polite n possesive for ur work.U feel happier inside wen ur praised but it leaves a negative impact on others..o remain what u r...will gv a example-if there is a mba class of 15 students..n two pass clearly but others dont...so what will others view be..all not pasing will share same views..they way they will notice that two passed students will be all different.They will avoid sharing assignments with them...so this is everywhere..but if those two people rise in proudness they will fall down on earth someday..so u dont show on ur face or keep in mind that they think differently about u..U JUST BE THE SAME IN UR WORK N NATURE N YES UR OWN WAY OF TALKING TO THEM...with no proudness & attitude...may be u can say that aaj kal toh luch accha hai pata nahi kab badal jaye..n all there are many things u can gv credit to in front of them...god,stars..moon n all BUT not to urself in front of them.

Your MD is insensitive to openly discuss about salary because it is confidential and it is a real killer for teamwork.

Some logical reasons I can think of why an organization adopts a premium pay for certain staff includes:

- the staff is a consistent star contributor;

- although bearing same job title, the said staff may have a higher academic qualification versus his peers;

- although bearing same job title, the accountability and dimensions of the job is different e.g. product line, market share, no of direct & indirect reports, sales targets, etc (and that's why benchmarking by job titles are misleading!)

- the individual is hired to charge into unknown territory; or

- the company may be grooming this individual to be the future leader.

Some "politically-linked" reasons could be:

- the said staff is either related to the MD or belong to the "Inner Circle" (have seen many such cases which makes salary administration a nightmare); or

- the said staff is "new blood" hired to create discord among old timers that eventually leads to "natural attrition"

The way forward is to appreciate the attention given to you from your MD, continue to be humble and continue to learn from your experienced seniors and leave the salary matters to your HR & MD.

U r not taking charity from ur boss, it is cost of ur work that u r getting , i dont know what u do and what is ur job profile in company, i like to say never dissc. to any one in ur company about this as every body know so it is again not a prob,

See you have not cleared what sort of job responsibilities you handle and what are your working hours and qualification and experience . Salary is basically a combination of lot of factors. What do you mean by high paid employee…are you getting somewhere btwn 5 to 10 lacs …..if yes then consider u are being paid good if not then I don’t consider it to be a high paid employee….see u might be getting better than others but that doesn’t mean u r in that category…..Dont worry just carry on your duties and try to give your best on every task assigned to you. If you justifying that you are worth it than no one can challenge what you are being paid but yes if your services are not upto the mark then there are bound to be questions being raised. Work and give the best forget the rest….

As all said politics is everyone, so don't let yourself down and avoid what other feel or say about you. Just concentrate on your work and give your best. If they ask you anything you can clearly tell them to clarify with boss. If its bothering you too much, then have words with your boss and tell him to take a meeting and let all know about the criteria and eligibility for salary structure, hikes, incentives and bonus. This way others will also be clear and will take initiatives to handle additional responsibilities, will be more creative with new ideas. Hope this helps you.

First of all it was really very unprofessional of your senior to discuss your ctc with the others. Second thing office politics is prevelant everywhere right from the ground root staff till the top management. Thus, do not feel why such a thing is happening with you. It happens with everyone and you are no exception.
What you should ideally do is prove your worth to your Management and others that you are paid higher because of your abilities and capabilities. Also, do not get bogged down about the fact that inspite you being humble to others, they do not care for you. It is very natural for them to react in this manner.
So, concentrate on your work, give in your best and prove your worth. Don't let petty issues bother you as your performance might get affected due to this which will be detrimental for you at this stage

politics is very much common in today's corporate world. I guess you just have to be chilled out & give ur best. If u r getting better salary than others elder to u, that means you must be having a good enough potential, I am sure ur MD must not be a fool to give you higher salary than other employees. Dont bother, be what u r & ofcourse yes.. Just be Positive.. cheers
