Macro is used to record the action taken on one data, which you want to repeat for other data also. suppose you want to analyze the demography of 10 districts of India or any state and u have same type data for each district. In this case the analysis technique used on data for one district can be used on other districts also without exactly involving all the steps. we just have to record the steps taken on one district's data through macro. it can be used on any type of data, no matter whether it belongs to IT or not .

Hi Nisha,
"...
Macro on excel - pl eeeees help
HI AL,
Can Anyone Xplain me in details about MACRO IN EXCEL...."
Plz follow the following to get all your queries answered-
1. As said by Amit, Macro is used to automate the repetitive task.
e.g. You have list of 3 Student A, B and C; having scores in Subject 1, 2, 3, 4.
If you want to do Score total of each student, you will have to write formula for Sum in every column.
Instead if you make Macro for the same, you don't need to it every time. Once you mention define Macro, it will do total for whichever student you want.
2. How to create Macro in Excel?
Ans - Taking same example, I have attached Excel Sheet with this post. Plz refer to it.
Create Table of content (in this case Student vs Scores)
Go to Tools-Macro-Security (Select Medium)
Go to Tools-Macro-Record New Macro-Give Macro Name (e.g. Addition)-Select Store in this workbook-Give short cut key if you want to (not necessary)-Click OK
Go to cell D8-write "=sum(D4:D7)"-Click Enter-Click Stop recording Macro.
Now Macro is stored.
This means that in whichever cell you keep your curson, when you run macro, it will do sum of data in 4 cells above that particular cell where your cursor is.
Thus, when you keep your cursor in E8(Blue cell) and run macro, it will add values from E4 to E7 .
Go to Go to Tools-Macro-Run macro keeping cursor in F8-It will do total of marks scored by student C (Orange cell).
To simplify the process of running macro, you can use short cut key (if you have assigned).
Also, you can draw a rectangle or any other drawing object, right click on it and chose assign macro-click on macro name. So, whenver you click on this rectangle, it will run macro.
3. This is very simple example of Macro. You can create Graphs, charts, assess sheets of 1000s of entries in it etc. It can save more than 90% of the time that you may spend on writing / copying formulas everywhere.
4. Any Non-IT person can create this. For using MS OFFICE (Word, Power Point, Excel etc.), no Specialist is required. So, plz remove fear that you have.
All the best.

Hi Nisha,
Regarding......
..........."when i clicking on addition cell, one message is coming on window i.e.
"Micro in this workbook are disabled, because the security level is high, an d the micro have not been digitally signed……………………………………."
1. When you open file, it asks, "Disable Macros, Enable Macros etc.".
Click on enable macros.
2. Security Level low or medium.
Then click on Addition button.
I have not done any Digital Signature. I downloaded same file from citeHR and tried to run, its running smoothly.
Plz do above 2 things and let me know what happened.
I think it should work.
Otherwise, follow the steps of creating macro as I have done.
I think you should be able to do it with the help of these steps.
Still if you face any problem, we can meet online, where I can instruct and you can follow.
Choice is yours.
All the best.
