Hi everyone,,
yesterday I was discussing with my HR friends,ie. communication b/w opposite sex in HR, ,and Impact of this..........
My quest is ....
which is more effective.....[if a HR is calling to the candidate for candidature( Interaction b/w the candidates and HR)....]
1.Male HR + female candidate
2.Female HR + Male candidate
3. Male HR + Male candidate
4.Female HR + Female candidate
Men and women definitely have different ways of communicating. ..Its human being if a male is interacting with female, his way of interaction will be definitely diff than a communicating with male.....decency level will be high, expression wil be diff r ........... & convincing b/w the diff sex is better than same sex..its my perception.....
I think, communication b/w different sex in Recruitment is one of the imp. tool .........
whats your view on this topic??

Gentleman,
All this is problem of mind.
If you are male of female what knowledge and know how or competancies are important and not sex to whom you talk. This is 18th century thinking.
This question do not deserve place on this forum.

Hi Abhishek
The question which you posted is of real importance. Which to choose is a critical choice to be made. Sometimes people be gentle to the opposite sex and vice versa. But mostly it is the opposite sex which gains more respect, people seem to be more civil in their conversation with the other gender.

This issue is gender discrimination. Gender is not job specific therefore HR has limited scope to practice gneder base HR.
Moreover, any discrimination based on gender is an illegal according to US and Europian labour laws.

dear friends,
Every human has the right to express his/her views. We must speakto express not to impress. Whether executive is male or female, let's see what matter is being discussed and not who is discussing this. Probably "accepting a person as what he or she is than what you are" attitude will help a health discussion!

Well according to my past experience I had given 4 interview at one go...out of which 3 were taken by females n one by the male...all 4 were equally good according to my point of view...I got selected in all the 3 interviews which were taken by females but the in the last one I was rejected by the male interviewee...so it not opposite sex which a plus or a negative point but many other thgs which helps in selecting/ rejecting the candidate...

Hi Abhi,

It differs from case to case.

Take for instance BPO - I have seen many campus recruitments where the girls dress "differently" that they usually are. Reason: They try to show their interesting culture which may attract a partuclar age group of people, and people with intentions of just - no matter what job, but needs glamour and fun around.

Take for instance Automotive industry - if its an initial tele discussion and if the candidate senses that the recruiter has no clue abt what the role is, in minutes he/she will hang up and leave

take civil - a tele-interview will not help you understand if he is fit or not. Some of the them *(in low level) may not be expressive while talking but may do an excellent job.

But if you are talking to a senior person in the construction Industry - and if the recruiter (Corp HR too) has less info abt projects, they will never prefer talking to the corpo hr, just emails....

Travel Industry - Really information savvvy people. They are fast, quick, smart, and hates a "stereo typed talk"

(Accountants - at mid and junior levels may not compliant against the stereo type..)

It differs in the Approach, definitely not in gender (excluding BPO)

Whatever the gender be, the recruiter has to possess every information abt the role and represent the company really well. It is also a part of branding.
