Hi Guys…..

Actually presently I am working with an ITES company. Recently I have joined this company as a HR executive. Previously I was working with its competitor company. Before appoint me in this company my Boss told me slowly- slowly they will hand over all HR responsibility. But almost 15 days had been passed away and they didn’t give me any kind of work which relates to my Job profile.
So now this situation is killing me like anything. So I am planning to quit this job…. But I m litil bit confuse that what I should do….
So pz suggest me something wht i sholud do?????

Hi..,
15 days, i think is not enough period to judge. If your boss is not assigning the task related to HR, being an HR executive, you can start preparing a Report about the kind of activities or updates which are need in HR field of your company. And you can suggest some to your boss. Then you can analyse the response and reaction to your suggestions. Whether the company really wants the HR tasks to be implemented?

Dear, I have prepared all the required documents. And many times told them to check it out but they are not giving any kind of responses……

It certainly is too early to presume things, as our friends have pointed out. It is better to give some time more for the company as they may be having other internal problems that are not revealed much which are common to a business. Do not get too impatient about that now.

Hello,
I guess you could casually ask ur boss with a smile "How soon can I expect the HR portfolio, and is there something I need to start doing abt it right away?"
WIll give u peace of mind.
Ask, never assume and act on assumptions.

Its suggested to discuss with the boss and ask him directly what he expects out of you, as time passes away.
and surely, an one-to-one interaction would be much productive and a better outcome can be expected.

Dear Seema
1. realy short notice to understand all compliance and correspondance
2. quit the job not a solution, i know said task is very tuff but if u have 50% knowledge above mentioned subject then you handle
3. if u handle & manage the hr work then u progress in future
4. as per my openion, you will be ready for take over the charge, also take extra responsbility in working period then u have a rich exp.

You joined with new company jst before 15days. You have to use wait & watch policy and also try to understand the working of new company. No body will handed over you directly the work. You must gain the confidence with your bosses.

Hi Swati
Presently what are the jobs assigned by your boss to you??
See I have also gone through the same problem and I gave enough time to my boss to build trust on me and giving me the responsibilities, but when I saw the wheel is not moving I went and asked what is expected out of me as my deliverables.. I got an answer will revert you back very soon… then after few days again I went and straight away asked for my KRAs…. Then I approached my second reportee and asked him to involve me in some kind of projects.
Finally got my KRA and working on it….
Please don’t be silent on these matters go and ask your boss in a very polite manner that you are feeling a little disengaged so please define to me what is the domain of my responsibilities.
