Hello seniors and my friends, my name is Pratap. Presently i'm working as a software engineer - Data warehousing- Informatica/oracle. i have 5+ years of experience in IT industry

Unfortunately, the previous company where i worked was a small IT company. i don't have P.F and company bank account. i received the salary as cash payment. The present company where i'm working is a medium sized company, but as per the company policy, they give me payslip every month and i receive the salary as cash payment. i don't have PF or company account either.

Money was demanding for me at the time i joined the company.
my present company gives me monthly payment even in this recession time promptly. Now i like to improve my career and taking steps towards my career growth by applying for MNC'S.

Recently i submitted my resume to TCS for an interview. The HR person discussed with me about the vacancy and said my profile will be difficult to be considered because i don't have a PF / company bank account no.

i explained him my position. he understood a little but the way he was asking me questions i feel he is not convinced. I'm ready to demonstrate my skills in the technical interview if any COMPANY gives me an opportunity...

Why that TCS person told me like that??
Do they suspect me a FAKE???
Friends, please tell me...... What should i do to convince the HR person or the company related to this issue. why they don't believe people like me from a medium sized company with no PF account no. or company account no.??

If this is the case, then will no MNC company will consider me for a job opportunity?? Is my career growth obstructed because of working in a small company?? Will i be not able to enter a MNC company like Cognizant, TCS, Wipro, HCL e.t.c.,

Please tell me how to handle this issue. i'm really taking hard efforts for a good career growth. What should i do, i need your suggestions and help me out of this trouble...

Thanks,
Pratap

Dear Pratap,

Juts let the TCS HR know that a few companies do notg ive PF or other benefits, but just pay in cash - in this way they get rid of tax. Not only your IT company - many other companies are doing it.

I came to know abt this only with "diverse" experience in a very short span of time. May be the HR person at TCS - has been in a different culture and is not aware of such things.

Ofcourse its bad on the company's part not to provide PF - but a normal employee like you, have no choice but look forward to a better work practise - the reason why you can tell you are consiering a change.

You cant cry over someone thinking you as fake - if you can explain really well, I dont think there is an issue.

Also - let the company know that - if in case they offer you a job, and later they found that the docs in terms of salary provided was false - they can terminate you.

During the initial rounds along with the pay slips, also carry bank statements.

I dont think this should be a major issue. Just talk and convince - with the facts. Be bold. Its normal for an HR person to be paranoid - you may be a good candidate, but there are many others who fool around with the pay slip. Bad experience must have made the TCS person suspect.

Above all make sure that the job truly needs you!

Re: Proof of Bank account or PF account.
Dear Mr.Pratap
I would understand the happening with you at TCS. Firstly, all the companies such as TCS Wipro and HCL etc follow the standardized HR practices.
They would not be leaning away from the policy for any person whatsoever the reason may be. You have the payslip to my understanding, then why don't you submit the same to them and also you can show the proof of appointment letter (if salary mentioned) as a document to them.
If they insist on PF / Bank account no. you can try explainin g them expeditely about the situation.
I hope they will agree. TCS are of high standards and never be compared with any other corporates.
So i think it will work. Try out explaining things.
with best wishes

Dear Ash Mathew, i really thank you for your message.
In my case, god has blessed me with skill sets which is the only thing with which i can prove my originality for a job opportunity. The company clearly needs a person matching my profile. That's why i applied for that TCS job.
But to prove my skills, the company person should give me an opportunity. That TCS person not even wishes to give me an interview appointment... How unethical is that behavoiur. My expectation with any company is, first let them conduct me a technical interview. if they found me fit for the profile, let them give me employment.

Let them assess my performance level after employment. If i'm going to contribute them let them have me in employment other wise it's meaningless to suspect whether a person is original or fake. i hope you can understand my desperate situation Mr. Mathew...
India is a developing country and people like me are struggling hard to get a good employment even though possessing the required skill sets.

Mr. Balaji, Thank you for your reply. I'm ready to show my payslip and provide the offer letter as evidence of my present employer. All these can happen only if they give me an opportunity for Technical interview and upon clearing the technical round i can explain all the HR related queries to TCS. but, that HR TCS is not even willing to give me an interview appointment... How unethical this behaviour is. God has blessed me with skill sets which is the only thing with which i can prove my originality for a job opportunity presently.
hope you can understand my desperate situation, any way thanks for your suggestions.

Thank you Mr. Rahul for your suggestion. What do i do for that... only god has to help me.

Hi Pratap,
Unable to understand why the TCS HR person is behaving like that. I have experience that some of the companies are even don't give appointment and relieving letters also and even the MNCs are inducting them with a notary saying that what ever he declared about his appointment and relieiving are correct and any legal aspects arises then he is solely responsible and company can terminate his services with out any issue.
The reason behind the TCS HR person not allowing you for interview is not known but it is not fair.
Don't be desparate I feel that a very great opportunity may be waiting for you.
All the best - Kameswarao

Dear Pratap,

Relax... As all HR knows some company especially those which are small and medium sized do not offer PF account. As you dont have any PF or salaried account as such, you need not to panic. Follow these steps and get it on urgent notice

1) Offer letter stating your Salary structure on company's letter head
2) 1 Professional reference to the person you were reporting to
3) Ask HR to issue a formal letter mentioning about the cash payments, and tell the reason of filing for Tax

Dude, always be alert to get written documents from company's end so you dont face any issues as such. Next time ask the company to issue a Current A/c Cheque of salary and note down the cheque details and you can show them your Bank account wher you credited your salary.

If you show the promptness to prove your honesty, NOt only TCS even microsoft will bow down and will select you... In the end what company looks is Honesty and social ethics.

If any more queries or clarifications, just blog...

B positive and never panic

Need not be so emotional. Dealing with "cash" thesedays, when plastic money is reigning, is dirty in my opinion. If you have 5+ years of experience, and the company is transacting in lacs (annually) with you, and pays in cash.....umm. Plz put yourself in the HR person's shoes and think. HIS job will be at stake to recruit someone with dubious background, isn't it?
Think cooly, and provide OBJECTIVE EVIDENCE. There may be a way to convince him.
