Dear Soni,
I am Assistant Manager - Human Resources and Admin in a reputed manufacturing company, Bangalore having 500+ employees. I have prior experience of 1 year as a HR Executive. However I am performing well. So years of experience doesn't matter for Assistant Manager post.

Dear Sonia, Experience doesnt matter for reaching the post of Asstt. manager. Its basically your skills and luck sometimes that can take you there. Best wishes, Vineet

Dear Sonia,
If you are a MBA degree holder then after completion of your management trainee period you can be confirmed as a Asst.Manager.

Hi Sonia,
To become anything in life you just need the will to do it and you can achieve everything. To become HR manager after one year you need to have the attitude to learn in your training of one year.
So all the best.

Soni,
Below points might help you..
- Titles are given depending on the industry and it's workforce size
- Small size organizations you may get this position very early of the career
- Bigger corporates in IT, which I'm familiar with needs, min. of 5yrs solid HR experience
Typical titles what I have seen so far are...
Trainee -> HR Executive -> Sr. HR Executive -> Asst. Mgr - HR -> Mgr. HR -> Sr. HR Mgr -> AVP/DGM -> VP/GM -> SVP/Head HR
My suggestion to you is, to focus more on roles & responsibilities at best interest of the organization that you work for, if you do so, the titles and money will come simuletenously.
All the best!

Hi Sonia,
It depends on various factors. Different organisations have different Structures, Grades, Parameters to Judge performance.
for eg. Depending on Organisation Structure as "KK" said it can be
Trainee -> HR Executive -> Sr. HR Executive -> Asst. Mgr - HR -> Mgr. HR -> Sr. HR Mgr -> AVP/DGM -> VP/GM -> SVP/Head HR.
or it can be
Trainee -> Asst. Mgr - HR -> Mgr. HR -> Sr. HR Mgr -> AVP/DGM -> VP/GM -> SVP/Head HR. (Yes one can be confirmed as Asst. Manager on completion of probation)
Similarly it can vary as per Grades, Performance etc. But it completely depends on the company policy.
