Greetings to all

I am doing my summer project with HLL Lifecare Ltd., Trivandrum.

The topic I have chosen is HR AUDIT OF HLL LIFCARE LTD.

For my research I am following a 3 tier approach:

1)To observe if HR dept. complies with the fundamental HR policies in major HR functions i.e. Personnel Policy, HRP, Recruitment & selection, Performance evaluation, Training and development, Employee relation, communication, compensation benefits.

for this i ve devised a format which I ll request the senior managers to fill in the particular area they are responsible for. Thus only 1 questionnaire ll be filled to check the compliance.

2) to analyse the compliance of HR functions with the business objectives of the company.

this will be done by surveying some 50 executive employees of other dept except HR using a structured questionnaire.

3) to observe the perception of employees about the HR dept of company.

this is a simple employee perception survey in perception of ground level employees will be seen about the HR department... [/SIZE]this will be done on basis of my belief that the perception of an employee about his work place largely depends on the HR

kindly tell me whether my approach is right or wrong:?:....... also provide me with some research papers on the topic if u ve downloaded any from sites like EBSCO & EMERALD or if u can download... please help me out.... I need it for my literature review :?:

Varun,
I am really pleased to find a quesry with such detail of what the student has done. Couple of points, as I will be on my way for my holiday for a week. What do you mean by "observe"? Will you be making records as an observer in the organisation? Beware of the effect of am observer on the behaviour of people involved. You can read about it by searching the web for Hawthorne Effect.
When we download items from Emerald, we cant give it to others, if I am right. I suggest that you access the articles of interest by searching Emerald: Welcome to Emerald and write to the authors for a copy. They usually oblige.
Please see my posts on Reseach Methodology and MBA Projects/dissertation, etc., at CiteHR.
Best wishes.

Sir

First of all, I would like to thank you for your kind concern.

Actually my real objective for study are as follows

1) To review the compliance of HR department with the fundamental HR procedures
2) To analyse the compliance of HR policies with the organizational goals and objectives
a. To identify the HR programs that are most important to achieving organization's objectives.
b. To find out how well HR department is delivering those programs.
3) To find out the image of HR department in the organization.
a) To find out the perception of other departments regarding HR dept.
b) To find out the perception of lower level employees about HR dept.

regarding Emerald and Ebsco, sir I don't ve access to the papers in these sites and hence I can go through only the abstracts of the papers. that's why i asked if some senior member who has access to these databases can provide me with the material.
But now as you advised I will try to ask the authors only for their papers if I get their contact details from the website

Thank you

regards
