Hi Mridulika,

Its been great to see your opinion & your true concern for child labour.I too feel the same. Its been really paining to see children in domestic work.We meet so many of them in our daily life.We sometime offer money or food. But is that all they needed??def not.

When i was in school we were taken to our nearest coporation school to teach them. One incident provoked me.I was asking each child what they want to become. Each one answered as usual i wanted become doctor, eng but one child told i want to become rich.Rich? i smiled & asked why?He replied i will buy new uniform, bags every year .I want to wear shoes not torn slippers with pins.I will go in a school van & i will say bye bye to my parents when the van is moving,I will eat different variety of foods each day, like that his list added many more things which is usual for us & very unsual & beyond his reach for them.He thought being rich than him will solve all his woes.He is not to be blamed. The disparity is shaking his life. After a year i learnt he dropped from school to help his brother in contruction line.

In chennai few school children go to each & every house get details about whether any child labour is employed if so they make them to reconnect with their parents. They even stick labels in each house as "This house has not employed any child labour".We can take up some intiatives too.Post or mail me further at do our bit.

And thanks Binu for the PPT.

Dear all,
I am working in an export house and as per our social audit we must have child labour remediation policy. You are requested to kindly provide me a draft copy of the same. Early response of the same will be highly appreciated.
thanks & regards
