Has the Medical Bonus under Sec-8 of the Maternity Benefit Act 1961 has been enchanced to Rs.1000/- from the present eligibilty limit of Rs.250/-? and if so effective date? Kindly appraise :beatup:

This amendment bill was introduced/ presented on May 1st,2007 and as per you attachment this was enacted /passed on April,2008 but this amended Act of 2008 also says that this shall come into force on such date as the central Govt. may by notification in the official gazette appoint. Now the question again arises that whether this notification regarding of date applicability has been issued by the Central Govt. or not ? Your good self is requested to specify & guide us.

What to talk of Rs. 2500 we do not know the date of applicability of Rs. 1000/-as medical bonus.If you have any notification regarding the increase from Rs.250/- to Rs.1000/- plz provide the same as most of the sites are also showing the rate of medical bonus as Rs. 250/- till now.
