am new for this plz guide me.....
do i need to deduct ESI for people who cross 10000 mark for at least 3 months... is this mandatory....
there are some employees who cross 10000 mark in one months and not in another months for them how can i do....

From India, Bangalore
dear
a person whose salary is more than 10 k per month at the time of joining he will not be member of ESI ,so no deduction will be there.
suppose if someone is geeting 9500 in the month of apr 2009 and his salary increased
by 1000 wef may 2009 onwards,so now his salary is 10500.dear he will continue to be member upto sep 2009 and deduction will be made on 10500 till sep 2009,after that he will be exempted from ESI.employees will be exempted from ESI after march or sept if there is increase in between.

whats the full form of esic?? And can anyone tell me what is pf challan and esic challan?? Hema

Dear Hema Jhangiani,
Are you a fresher or working anywhere? For abbreviations and relevant query, you have to search in the internet and find it rather waiting for someone to reply your question here. Try google search.
Are you an MBA? By now, you should have known these terms as you would have done a paper on PM & IR.
When time permits, please search the sites of EPF and ESI. On the top of this page, type key words 'ESIC', 'PF challan' etc and search. Numerous records would be fetched and read as much as you want and download them. If your search does not yield result, then you can ask here.
CiteHR Members are sure to ignore your questions like what is attendance, loss of pay, payroll, etc. So don't get dissappointed.
Spend time in learning and acquiring knowledge. Soon you will become an addict of this site. All the best.

Dear Hema,
ESIC stands for Employees State Insurance Corporation set up by Employees State Insurance Act for providing medical and other benefits to employees.
Challan is a kind of pay in slip used to remit payments to Government Treasury specifying the account head to which the amount is to be credited. The Employees Provident Fund Organisation and Employees State Insurance Corporation have designed their own challans showing various particulars pertaining to remittance. The respective challans are used exlusively for such remittance.

Dear Sarkar,

There is nothing like being 'too harsh or soft'. Very often I have come across replies in this forum as 'please search and if not available ask here', 'this is basic terminology and need not be asked here', 'search through the archives', 'ask something worthy', 'this platform is for discussion on problems, case study, grievances', ...... of course you would have also read similar comments. Do you think those comments are rude?

Many senior members do lament over such attitudes of 'ready to serve', 'order ready', 'get me please', 'send by email', 'spoon feed me'. I thought it was good to tell the new entrant about what to do and how to search in citehr. Ask the senior moderators, they would agree that I am right.

If this sounds harsh to you, good heavens... what else to say? You could have been prompt enough to be an early bird to reply first instead of being the 10th person in line. That too your reply had no relevance to query other than criticism. Your status shows you have done only 12 posts in one year and not participative. Why?

dear
first of all i will suggest mr chandru and mr sarkar ,donotn fight each other we are here to share knowledge.most of our friends donot try to search
the problem on cite HR and they want readymade answer, its not a good habit.
dear ratikant PF and ESI botth act are seprate and you can not copare both .
PF should be deducting on basic and HRA where as ESI is deducted on gross salary.why you are comairing ESI with PF.both act does not have any realtion with each other.
tks
