Dear Soumiya,
The topic U have raised may look as a little awkward and at times a little uncomfrtable to reply... esply coming from a Trainee herself!
However, trying to answer it, the basic parameters on which a Trainee, most of the times a fresher is:
The Institute from which she/he is coming
The Educational Back ground of the incumbent
The potential interests of the incumbent (specialisation)
The location of the employing company ans its MT Policy
The nature of the project to be undertaken
There can be some more....but, the first and the last points are really imp...If U see, the Institute's Brand name matters... n so does the company's internal People Practices
My first thots n 2 cents to your Q!
Cheers

hi kanishka,
i think, u r partially right in saying that institute's brand name matters.
according to me, more than the brand name, the potential n the callibre of the candidate matters. this can be judged by interviewing the candidate in terms of her knowlege, her skills and her academic and activities' background.
wat say?

Hello Reena,
Well, may be U r rite... but in the case of a Campus Recruitment drive for Final Placements...for Summers, it may not hold true.
Coz, mostly most of the companies have a slab to rank insitutes and have differential pay slots..... and if the MT Policy states something... it hardly matters if the girl/guy is good... if not her/him... there will be more to do a project for them....mostly!
I say!!
Cheers
