Should a company declare a holiday on the day of the election? I got to know that (in Karnataka) "in case of general elections to the Lok Sabha and Vidhana Sabha and in case of any bye election, a holiday shall be given to all employees on polling day. Is it mandatory to give a paid holiday. Would appreciate if someone can clarify my doubts.
