Hi, Ankita,
its very good practice for employee engagement but as per my suggestion we have to celebrate the birthdays on the same day. baz of that employees will know that the mangement is also aware @ our personal life on day to day basis. If you are going to celebrate tyhe birthdays on every end of the month then that means you are collecting data once in a month but if u do this on same day then their is some enjoyement for that day & we have to celebrate with the help of our colligues.
For the celebration of birthdays I following practice like to display on notice boards regarding birthday celebration before one day & evry one is sighning on that for wishing him and for celebration of the same we/ dept contribute for cake & birthday boy to give snacks party to alll dept employees.

Mr. Negi is absolutely right. But I would like to add up his advice. Rather than sending mail on the day of B'day I would suggest you to mail one day prior - ie before leaving from office in the evening. So that once everyone reaches office next day the first thing they would notice in their mail box.
Also you can start distributing B'day Gifts on the the day of B'day itself.

hey u can also put a scribble chart in the recreation room where all associates can write their wishes and later you can also present it to the bday boy/ girl by getting it framed.

Hey Ankita,
Celebrating birthdays is a very good practice. It shows the employees that they are cared for. What I follow is -
1. A nice email which has good quotes on birthdays & a nice picture. (Picture can be any birthday related, good flower ... anything). This email goes sharp at 9:00 a.m. from my inbox to everybody in the organization, marking cc the birthday boy/girl.
2. The very day we cut a cake for the person with drinks and few snacks.
3. A birthday card is given to him/her signed by his collegues.
I don't see why anybody want to celebrate his/her birthday at the end of the month. Do you think the objective will be accomplished? At least I don't see.
Your Call at the end of the day.

Hi,
1. You can send the list of birthday buiddies every month to all with the birthdays mentioned against their name (Please do not mention the year of birth. Date and Month is enough)
2. Along with the list, you can send the horoscope of the star signs (for that particular month) or siginificance of the birthdates ,etc. You can get the datas from google search.
3. You can celebrate the birthday party during the last day of every month. You can provide a big cake for all the buddies and make them cut the cakes. You can also organize for some funny games to make them feel happy. :-P
Attached here are some samples.
Hope it would be useful for you.
Best Wishes.

Hi,
We celebrate MONTH-END birthday parties and all employees look forward to it ! The cake n chips are funded by the company whereas other refreshments are arranged by the birthday boys/girls for the particular month.
The birthday greeting is sent to the employee on the very day of his/her birthday..
At times, we also plan small games like 1 minute events etc. which we conduct during the party.
