SHIFTING FROM MARKETING TO HR.
ONE of the approach is to use your core competence in marketing
to HR SERVICES.
The areas you can move with little effort are
-marketing of HR CONSULTING SERVICES
-recruitment/ selection of marketing / sales people.
-training of marketing/ sales personnel
-training people in product management
-conducting MARKETING APPRECIATION COURSE FOR sales people.
etc
It will be useful to do a course in
-train the trainer
-sales training.
Once you pocket 2 years experience, during which
-you should enrich yourself by learning more on job analyses,
job desc development, developing sales personnel competencies
etc which would lead to HR SPECIFICS.
MY SUGGESTION IS BASED ON MY VERY PERSONAL
EXPERIENCE.
I HAVE A VERY STRONG SALES/ MARKETING BACKGROUND.

Dear Anu,
Leo sir has explained very beautifully, I can say that you can shift your career from marketing to HR. But the thing is that Marketing people are working in frontline and has more challenging job. While HR people are working in backstage and they also has more challenging job. If you wish to seat in one office for whole day and motivate your self to work on one desk you can shift your career. Remeber grass on other side is always green.
