hi Reebi,
Maintain the attendance register in your organisation. Ask each employees to enter the login and log out times and dates.
Develop a policy for absentism, Leave, Attendance etc, and implement it so that all will follow the procedure accordingly.
If you have already done this, send a Attendance report of absentee to your manager and call the employee for counselling. As a HR you need to know the reason behind this absentism, to help out the employee also.
Thanks

Dear Jose

Please educate the absentees and explain the loss of benefits by absent
01. To get Earned leave they have to work 240 days
02. By absent their PF accumulations will go down
03. If they are not complected 240 days in a year they will lose one year
eligibility for gratuity.
04. They will not be eligible for getting increments and promotion
05. You can punish them as per the guidlines of Certified standing order or
model standing order.
06. Arrange counciling with his spouse or their family members.
07. Exhibit the name of employees who are not absented during the month
and give some remunerations for them.
Best of luck

if they are an educvated lot then the following will come in handy else use the earlier suggestions posted for blue collar environment.
a) leaving early or coming late is ok, only unscheduled leaves affect the bottomline.
so ask every dept to make a roster and then match the roster Vs actual attendance in terms of deviations eg shift change, root cause of leaves, patterns of leaves etc
deviation denotes lack of planning from HOD point of view and lack of relaibilty amongst the particular employees.

Dear Sir,
I just read ur answer to Mr. Josh, regrding absenteeism , i am facing also same problems with our employees as well as my boss. plz help me.
problem as under:

Dear sir,
I recently (Before 6th months) joined a small scale industry there in not any HR words, we handle prodn as well HR activities since last 6 months, and currently I have received a letter from my boss regarding manpower problem. they blame me as points as under:
1. Replacement of worker who has left from services.
2. Controlling the absenteeism upto the level of 5%.
3. Requirement time to time as and when required.
4. Daily monitoring of absenteeism and issuing letter to concerned and submission of report to Boss.

As per my opinion, THE MAIN REASON IS :
1. No sitting arrangement for ladies worker (8-10 hrs of standing Jobs)
2. No any fan in production floor in summer season.
3. 5 min. late , they mark absent.
4. overtime compulsory for worker when company required.
5. Company distance from main city-15 km & no buses & conveyance available on this route, worker depends on left from other employees , cycle and auto if available.
6. as per worker views , company reputation is very bed

I already discussed with my boss regarding all aforesaid matters and his answer is next month. and know they want from me a justified answer in written.

And I want, my answer should be that my job will be safe & Boss also satisfy.

Any help in this regard will be highly appreciated.
Plz. tell me thru my e-mail:

Thanks,
