We are a textile company are having the majority of women workers due to tight work schedule we are engaging women workers after 7 P.M
Is this Legal?
What is the status of Sec.66 (1) (B) of The Factories Act 1948.
Is any other way to employ women workers after 7 P.M?
We are running one shift only and the shift timings are 9.30 A.M TO 6.30P.M
Help me seniors?

Provisio to section 66 (1) (b) permits employment upto 10 pm if authorised by the appropriate government.
With the emergence of IT/ BPO many notifications have come permitting employment of women during night. The only condition is that the employer has to ensure safety of women employed during night. Similarly the employer has to arrange for the transportation of these women employees.

If the organization is planning to engage women worker's to work late, the organization should ensure the safety of all the women workers including their food and transportation arrangements.

as per running practice if you want to appoint women in evening and night shift you should be responsible for her safety and Transporation with meals then appoint her after 7 P.M.
