We are a textile company are having the majority of women workers due to tight work schedule we are engaging women workers after 7 P.M
Is this Legal?
What is the status of Sec.66 (1) (B) of The Factories Act 1948.
Is any other way to employ women workers after 7 P.M?

Provisio to section 66 (1) (b) permits employment upto 10 pm if authorised by the appropriate government.
With the emergence of IT/ BPO many notifications have come permitting employment of women during night. The only condition is that the employer has to ensure safety of women employed during night. Similarly the employer has to arrange for the transportation of these women employees.
